The Infinite Shelf is an extension of Landfill of Memories, the autobiographical stage show by Susanna Amato. It is a communal archive where the objects we keep and the memories they hold are gathered, witnessed, and weighed. Gently of course. You're invited to place a memory on the shelf; it could be from your childhood, a tough time, or a cherished forever, and to decide whether to keep it or let it go.

Built around the compassionate framework and method of psychologist Ian Porter, the project treats hoarding not as a punchline or a problem to be solved with a skip, but as a relationship between a person and the things that have carried them through grief, trauma and change. It always asks “what happened to you?” rather than “what’s wrong with you?”

The shelf is for anyone who has ever kept something they could not explain: a receipt, a broken watch, a box of letters. It is for everyone: people who hoard, or people who don't, for people who love someone who hoards, and for anyone curious about the emotional weight of ordinary objects. Contributors can add a story, an image, a reflection, and a meaning rating, then choose to keep the memory or shred it. The choice is theirs, and it is witnessed.
