A croc in a frock

— Vic McGlynn

A gift from my niece and nephew when they were small, not that they remember this but I'll never forget how pleased I was that my young family members recognise how much I love daft and surreal humour. It reminds me of a time when I was more relevant in their lives, but as they grow with independence, I still have this memory to make me laugh...

That regardless of the advancement of time, playfulness and weirdness should never be erased.

Kept

Questions to sit with

What happened to you around this object?

What does keeping it protect you from — or connect you to?

If you let it go, what would you lose? What might you gain?

Whose memory is this, really?

These prompts follow Ian Porter's approach — compassionate curiosity, asking “what happened to you?” rather than “what's wrong with you?”.
